A garden is a wonderful way to beautify any outdoor area, and our grounds can only continue to be enhanced by our lot holders commitment to paying homage to their loved ones with their headstone memorial gardens. We love to see them when they are cared for but we do understand how time consuming something like that can be and have seen how well intentioned headstone gardens can become over grown with weeds or the plants in them get eaten by the deer on the grounds, or how some that have non-organic materials in them eventually break down and the items in them, such as fake flowers, balloons, flags, pinwheels, or the like, get damaged from the elements or from not being enclosed inside of a border fence and damaged during ground maintenance. These items start to break down after about a year and blow across the grounds or fall apart around the lot. Not only can those items become unsightly and ultimately get thrown out, but they can also cause damage to the lawn equipment which impacts all lot holders when the grounds cannot be cared for as needed due to repairs.
With this in mind I would like to start encouraging our lot holders to start planting native plants that are deer resistant and I would like to start helping with the transition toward that end by providing a list of deer resistant plants (below).
If you would like to have a headstone garden installed we are more than happy to do that on you or your families behalf and will help you maintain it. There is a fee for the install and a small maintenance fee that is charged in the spring and summer months.
Headstone Garden Install: $250.00 (this includes the boarder, plants, mulch, topsoil, grass removal, weed blocker cloth, and care of the garden for the spring and summer season)
Spring and Summer maintenance fee: 100.00 annual fee (May thru October. The first seasons fee is not required if garden is newly installed)
